Organizations we Collaborate with:

Philadelphia County Master Gardener Program´╗┐

“Master Gardener volunteers support Penn State Extension’s educational programs in consumer horticulture. They develop their horticultural expertise through participation in educational training classes conducted by Penn State University faculty and Extension staff.” The Master Gardener Program is an excellent resource for up-to-date gardening tips, community resources involving gardening, and a network of people dedicated to the craft of gardening.

International Society of Arborists

“Through research, technology, and education, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.” (ISA website)

Our Partners

Philadelphia Horticultural Center

“PHS invites people of all skill levels to participate year-round in educational workshops and events and, as members, volunteers and exhibitors.  Together with our amazing partners, PHS is shaping the region through greening.” (PHS website)

Rain Check (PHS)

Through this program, Close at Hand participates in the installation process of Down Spout Planters and Rain Barrels. As a contractor for Rain Check, we access, install, and supply with plants when needed. Why is Rain Check important to Philadelphia? Due to “runoff” from rainstorms, our sewage-system often becomes overwhelmed with water, which then enters our rivers and waterways. With raincheck features, Philadelphian’s can manage their rain-water in a controlled and beautiful way. We are proud to be a part of this team! This program was established in 2014. It is funded by Philadelphia Water and supported by the Sustainable Business Network.

Sustainable Business Network

“The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN) is a community of local independent businesses that demonstrates the degree to which businesses can build profitable enterprises while serving community needs, sharing wealth, and protecting the environment.” (SBN website)
